Microsoft adds a new variant of Surface Pro 3 with cheaper Intel Core i7

We continue counting the days until the launch of Windows 10 that will take place on July 29 and with it, presumably, will come the presentation of a Surface Pro 4 of which we know little to date. Despite this, Microsoft continues to make promotions and changes in the current offer of Surface Pro 3 with the aim of attracting the attention of users who still have an interest in this model and do not want to wait for the next one. The last one has been to include among the available options aa new variant with Intel Core i7 processor together with a different configuration of RAM and storage memory.

This new variant of Surface Pro 3 appeared on the Microsoft official store without any notice and with it there are already six available, since the model with an Intel Core i3 processor is still valid despite the fact that supposedly discontinued to support sales of the new Surface 3. For now it can only be found on the American website of the Redmond company, in the Spanish one the five usual options continue to appear, but we hope that these changes will also be applied soon.

More power, less memory

As we said, this model that can now be purchased has the most powerful processor, the 7 GHz Intel Core i1,7 But it sacrifices storage memory for a cheaper price. Specifically offers 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, an option that was only available until now in the hands of the Intel Core i3 and Intel Core i5 processors. Its price is the same as the Surface Pro 3 with Intel Core i5, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, U.S. dollar 1.299 (1.469 euros in Spain), so the dilemma is whether it is worth sacrificing half of the internal memory to obtain better performance.

If you are thinking of buying a Surface Pro 3 right now, you will have to solve this question for yourself, it cannot be said that one option is better than the other, simply each user must evaluate their needs, what use they are going to give to the Most successful tablet in Microsoft's history as a device manufacturer and make a decision. In any case, it is fine to expand the options, although the ideal for the Surface Pro 4 would be that the equipment could be configured to taste to make it easier for everyone to find the benefits and the price that best suit them.
