New Nexus 7: screen issues continue and unexpected reboots appear despite update

Nexus 7 performance

We continue to receive testimonials from American buyers of the new nexus 7 (2013) who experience problems with your touch screen. Despite the fact that Google released an update that sought to solve this problem, it seems that the effectiveness of the new software compilation is not what was expected. In addition, a new type of problem begins to be discussed with certain frequency in certain forums.

A couple of weeks ago those from Mountain View launched the update that it had to tackle not only the problems of the answer of the screen but also the anomalous behavior of the GPS. This build called JSS15Q It was to curb the growing discontent of American consumers with its recent acquisition.

For a few days it seemed that the measure had had its effect. It would be a lie to say that the situation has not improved, but some users still detect problems, some of which you can see in this video.

As we see they are given contact losses when dragging and the appearance of a third phantom pulsation when using two fingers. It is true that it seems more intermittent than the initial problems, but it can be really annoying. It is said to be a calibration problem and that perhaps with another update it could be solved.

In addition, other users are reporting reboots or completely unexpected tablet restarts. In some cases, they occur up to twice a day and in the middle of operations, also after the JSS15Q update.

The Nexus (2013) arrived in Spain a few days ago and the first units are already beginning to reach the hands of the first buyers. We do not know if something similar is happening in the new items destined for the European market. When we tried it at Google offices, we didn't notice anything of the kind.

If you are experiencing any of these problems, we would appreciate it if you would tell us about it in the comments section.

Hello! I just changed my Nexus 7 purchased on August 28th because it had a green dot on the screen. As I have read it seemed to be a stuck pixel, it was very small but once I realized that it was not stopped seeing it, and it became quite annoying. I bought the Tablet at Media Markt and they changed it today without any problem. At the moment this new Nexus 7 seems to work perfectly.

I have the nexus 7 with the JSS15Q update but anyway when I test the multi touch with 3 fingers for example it starts to detect another phantom finger. Obviously it has not been corrected with that update.

bullshit ... I've had it for 3 days and it works like a charm, no problem at all. A great sound, and if you try real racing 3 you will hallucinate

The accelerometer stopped working for me, I could not rotate the screen and the games that required accelerometer could not be played. I had to restore from factory but without activating the option to save configuration because doing so despite restoring would still not work. I have read that this has happened to several people, I hope they will also fix this problem soon

The failure of the screen is due to the application they use in the videos, all the devices that install it do the same with any other application, it goes smoothly

I just bought my nexus in Argentina and it has a very fine black line on the screen, it is constant and I do not know if it is an error of the tablet or something else.

It is a very bad tablet. Too many problems despite having a very powerful hard. We will have to wait for the final version and put up with this "beta".
