A couple of days ago we told you that Donovan Sung, Xiaomi's head of international product development had stated that what was seen in the month of January, with the presentation of the Redmi 2 and its subsequent update, the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro was just the beginning of the plans for this first quarter . He anticipated movements in both February and March, with several new devices as protagonists. What no one could foresee is that the Xiaomi Mi5, the next flagship, could be among the chosen by now.
Sung's statements were within logic, since Xiaomi will need a high frequency of launches if it wants to achieve the objectives set for 2015. We extracted that the devices to which it referred that would be presented before the end of March could be the We TV of which so much has been said, the Redmi Note 2 and the option that was presented as the juiciest, the second generation of its tablet, the MyPad 2.
It was difficult to think that one of those chosen was the Mi5, since this presentation and that of the Mi Note / Mi Note Pro, two high-end terminals, would be very close. Apparently, according to recent rumors, Xiaomi would be preparing an event for the next day 12 February, Thursday of next week, in which the new flagship, which has been seen in several images, would be the protagonist. It would take place nothing more and nothing less than in San Francisco, a large American city that is located a few kilometers from the nerve centers of Apple (Cupertino) and Google (Mountain View). What they would look for with this choice is a mystery, since they will not reach this market or the European market for several years as Hugo Barra confirmed recently.
As for the new photographs, two specifically, highlight ideas that we already had of the device from previous information. The most remarkable thing at first glance is undoubtedly the almost total absence of frames sides, which would reduce the width of the terminal to make it much easier for one hand to grip.
