Nexus 7 VS New Ipad. Which is stronger and easier to repair?

Nexus 7 VS New iPad - resistance and repairs

Now that the Nexus 7 from Google many consumers are rushing to buy it like crazy. It is normal, its price is incredible considering the technical characteristics that it gives us. As we always say, any tablet worth its salt should be compared to the New iPad before valuing your purchase. In this case, we will not offer you a comparative of characteristics, but of resistance to accidents and ease of repair.

Nexus 7 VS New iPad - resistance and repairs

The characteristics of these two devices are quite well known, but if you want one comparison between Nexus 7 and the New iPad first of all visit the article that we dedicate to this topic.

Before the event occurs that we have to repair our Nexus 7 or our New iPad, we have to break it. SquareTrade offered us a great video a month ago in which they subjected the Nexus 7 and the New iPad to two types of falls, the most frequent that could occur, and a water resistance test. Believe it or not, many people drop the tablet into the pool, bathtub or sea.

In all tests Nexus 7 comes out winning. its screen reinforced with Corning Glass, a super resistant glass does not scratch and its plastic casing absorbs shocks better than the aluminum metal casing of the New iPad. As for the dipping test in water, Nexus 7 is victorious again. After a short dive, both devices continue to work, their touchscreens continue to recognize gestures, but the speakers of the New iPad break down unlike those of the Nexus 7.

Regarding repairs, the guys at iFixit, whenever a new device they open it up and look at its components. Thanks to this we can see what steps a technician would have to follow to repair any damage or replace a defective or damaged component. Most tablets die from the screen or from heating issues.

Nexus 7 warm up

When starting to dismantle Nexus 7 they saw what it was really easy. With a plastic prying tool and a Philips screwdriver you are all done. With the New iPad you have to use dryers and various prying tools. The guys at iFixit say that the difference with the New iPad is total and that this means being able to extend the life of the device much longer through simple and accessible repairs.

El Nexus 7 avoids many heating problems using copper foil to insulate your processor and battery. These are easily removed. Among users of the New iPad there have been many complaints about how hot it is, and that is that its quad-core GPU and Retina display are very demanding.

As far as screen repair is concerned, this is the only point where Nexus 7 limps. And is that the Corning Glass glass is literally fused with the panel, so if you break the protective glass, the entire piece will have to be changed. In the New iPad it can be removed individually but after a very difficult process that involves the use of high suction cups. Of course, Corning Glass will give us less opportunity to have to change the screen as we have seen in the SquareTrade video. However, the one on the New iPad is crushed or scratched at the first hit and I don't want to think about what a replacement Retina display is worth.

In short, Nexus 7 is a stronger tablet than the New iPad and much easier to repair. Its initial price would give us to buy two Nexus 7 so we would buy a New iPad without 3G, although the performance and smoothness of the New iPad has not yet been reached.

Nexus 7 flies at 2.0ghz, in throughput and graphical performance it gives a huge kick in the ass to the toy for which they copied the name from the Chinese. IPad has been dethroned HAHAHAHA. And this is just the beginning, many tablets are coming out with the new tegra3 chip, all of them superior in performance.

The Nexus 7 is very resistant but mine has broken with the original case, and I still don't know why. It could be pressure since I usually carry it in the back pocket of my pants, but not when I saw it broken, I was not aware of any excessive pressure or blow.
