Crowdfunding projects are taking over the Internet. Those involved in the development of electronic devices usually always carry the incentive that the most generous donors receive a unit of the model in question as compensation for their support of the project. Today we want to tell you about one of those opportunities that may be attractive to open source lovers: PengPod, a dual-boot tablet on Android 4.0 and Linux.

This tablet made by the company Peacock Imports is on the crowdfunding website Indiegogo trying to raise the necessary money to be able to give it a commercial outlet and reach the stores. Different contributions can be made which will then be rewarded with different details. Under $ 99 they give us SD cards with boots of the two indicated operating systems or the MiniPC PengStick. From the U.S. dollar 99 we can get tablets and the project has two models: 700-inch PengPod 7  y 1000-inch PengPod 10.

Both have a screen type KDE PlasmaActive with touch capability. In the first case, the resolution is X and the largest of X.

As a processor, both have a Allwinner 10 SoC which has the following components. A CPU of 8 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A1,2 and a Mali GPU 400. This chip allows WiFi connectivity although a cable can also be connected Ethernet. It has two USB ports and an additional one with OTG. At the same time allows an exit HDMI to enlarge the image on another screen. Has an SD card slot

This chip also with these capabilities is contained in a MiniPC connectable by USB that they have called PengStick with which you can boot into Android or Linux by SD card and with the same type of ports as tablets.

The 7-inch tablet has 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of Flash memory and a 1,3 MPX front camera. The 10-inch has 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of Flash memory and a 0,3 MPX camera.

You can see the project in Indiegogo, perhaps support it and in a short time receive a PengPod or PengStick model.
