All the great series of drawings in the end end up having their video game, that is the case since the mythical Simpsons game for SEGA Master System. Now it is much easier to launch a mobile game due to its great diffusion capacity. From today on the App Store and Google Play Store we have the Family Guy game, that it's called Family Guy: In Search of Things.
Fox and developer TinyCo have teamed up to bring a story with a fun approach, but whose development leaves a lot to be desired. Quahog has been destroyed after the Giant Chicken became President of Fox, threatened to cancel the cartoon series, and engaged in an epic fight with Peter Griffin throughout the city, reducing it to ashes.
The idea is that we rebuild Quahog starting with the Griffin family home, for this we will have to do crazy tasks and unlock characters. Each time we achieve some of these challenges we will gain experience and money that will allow us to have new skills and buy new materials.
The approach of each little story and set of the game are fun, like the series itself, however its execution is quite boring. We simply have to pulse as instructed. That is, the game turns the player into a robot who uses his finger from time to time and when asked.
Little space remains for decision-making or strategy in a game that could have been raised from a philosophy closer to resource management games.
The game is a free-to-play, so we started playing for free. However, in order to speed up the pace of play we have ridiculously priced in-app purchases.
We believe that it can be an interesting game for a little while and perhaps for children, as long as we do not mind that they come into contact with content of the usual tone of the series, more typical of adults. Perhaps also for die-hard fans who will enjoy the jokes in the dialogue and animations.
