As they did with the first game released at the end of the 80s, the essence of the original has been maintained but with a graphic recreation more typical of our times.
Ubisoft recovered the saga that Broderbund began in 1989 on an Apple II and that would later give way to the first PCs, Amiga and Atari and then to the SEGA and Nintendo consoles. At that time, a 3D recreation was chosen that was very successful and offered as much fun as the originals. However, lovers of video games with already some gray hair remember these titles with true love, since they offered us hours of fun and perhaps some diopter.
The name of the game is the same as that of 1993. To commemorate its twentieth anniversary, Ubisoft recovers this wonder. The two-dimensional approach is maintained, even though the character and funds spend a 3D look that does not transcend movements and that takes its aesthetics from the modern console game. Again, it is a platform where running, jumping, rolling and avoiding obstacles are the basis.
This Prince of Persia 2 can be played with touch controls or a fake joystick. Ubisoft, in the voice of its CEO Yannis Mallat, has explained that with this launch for mobile devices they do not seek to bring back the attention for an upcoming launch on consoles. They do not plan to expand the saga in the near future, although he has also warned that if the developers are excited, everything can happen.
It will come to iOS and Android on next July 25 with a cost of $ 1,99, that is, about 1,79 euros, the same as the cost of Prince of Persia Classic.
