Microsoft already planning the first major update to Windows 10 codenamed Redstone

Has not been released yet Windows 10 and we are already talking about the first big update that will arrive for the new version of the operating system. Although it may seem too early, it is a good sign. It means Microsoft is taking seriously its promise to release updates more frequently, preventing bugs from piling up and affecting you longer. Redstone, the code name assigned to this first update, is not yet in development but the Redmond ones have started planning it.

Microsoft has commonly used code names to internally identify different updates to its operating system. Without going any further, Windows 10 was known for a long time as windows threshold, precisely because that is how they called it before announcing it as Windows 10. Surely many will sound like "Redstone”, And it is that it is one of the raw materials that can be found in the Minecraft video game, owned by the North American giant.

This material can be used to recreate electronic circuits in the game, which makes it somewhat special and relates it directly to the sector. Nor is it the first time that Microsoft uses a video game to get the names that identify a product, the most recognized are Cortana, your personal assistant, and Spartan, the browser that comes to replace Internet Explorer, both extracted from the Halo saga.

Windows 10, almost ready

As we said, Redstone is not yet in development, but Microsoft has begun to plan this first major update (deadlines, news that it will bring, etc.) that will arrive in 2016 now that Windows 10 is almost finished according to the latest information. Apparently most of the work is done and all that remains is polish its performance, reducing the number of errors that are currently present.

build-2015

On the other hand, Microsoft has already convened the Microsoft Build Developer Conference 2015 Between April 29 and May 1, dates in which they will meet again with the main developers to discuss issues related to the last part of the work with Windows 10. In addition, we hope that they will make public the final date of the launch and specify more all the details regarding the operating system and the new version of your office suite, Office 2016.
