We already have a date, place and official confirmation from the manufacturer that will announce what may be the first device with a folding screen to hit the market. Or at least one of the most important and that will revolutionize the industry. We are obviously talking about Samsung, which has published the details of its next developer conference to be held in San Francisco and with which it inevitably invites us to imagine that the long-awaited folding device will be there.
The fault is an official tweet with which they announce the celebration of the event, since they leave the phrase "where he now knows what is next" drops that we will see news related to their next releases. However, there is an element that ends up confirming the "folding theory", since what at first looks like an arrow that indicates the date of the conference, ends up "folding" to become a vertical bar. Is there any doubt?

The president of the company himself had already confirmed that there would be details of the folding screen at the November developer event, however, there was still the question of whether they would be simple brushstrokes, a sketch or if on the contrary they would present something with more substance. It would not be the first time that developer conferences serve to unveil new concepts, ideas and upcoming products that will see the light of day in the coming months. In previous appointments we could see how the company shaped its Tizen operating system, presented its first 360-degree camera for virtual reality and shaped Bixby. We will see if finally the new form factor is also baptized in this event.

Among the thousands of patents that are registered daily, today a very interesting one has come to light that was requested last June and that was not authorized until a few days ago by the USPTO. In it we can see an accessory from the famous OtterBox case manufacturer, protective covers that would go unnoticed if it weren't for the fact that they are designed to be used with a phone and a tablet with a folding screen.
Taking into account that the manufacturer works for Apple, Google, HTC, LG, Motorola, Nokia, OnePlus and Samsung, the product could be destined for any of them, however, among the chosen list only one is especially interested in the development of a device with these characteristics.
This, although it does not serve to confirm or reveal any imminent device, helps to see that the arrival of the new form factor is getting closer and closer, and it is only a matter of time for a manufacturer to present its first model and later follow the rest.
