The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are seen in official press images

Just four days ago, Samsung confirmed that next August 13 he would hold an event in New York, the "Galaxy Unpacked 2015" which will serve, although this was not confirmed, for the launch of the two phablets that will mark its trajectory in this second half of the year: the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Four days is also the time that has been enough for the official press images that will be distributed to the media in a little less than two weeks, begin to leak and reveal to us how the two devices will be aesthetically.

The images that we show you below are therefore official, although they do not come from an official source. It is no longer about concepts or images of the devices in the certification bodies (usually prototypes and with poor quality) but rather some of those that the company will deliver to the different media that are covering the event and with which they will also cover the Alice Tully Hall located at Lincoln Center in New York, venue of the event that will begin at 11:00 local time (17:00 p.m. in Spain).

Samsung Galaxy Note 5

The first one that we are going to show you corresponds to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. We know that it is this and not a Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus because the device is accompanied by the S-Pen, the characteristic Stylus of the South Korean company that adds advanced functions to its phablet par excellence, one of the characteristics that define this range. For the rest, the appearance, at least of this front face which is what we can see for now, it looks a lot, we could even say too much, like the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Like the standard version of the flagship smartphone, it will feature metallic finishes on the contour and glass, with the characteristic rounded shape and the button that houses the fingerprint reader. If there is something to highlight in this image, it is the reduced frames that the Galaxy Note 5 seems to have. We will wait to see the figures but it gives the feeling that they have worked to reduce the width of the dimensions in order to improve ergonomics and appearance visual, of course.

In terms of its specifications, it is expected to have a screen 5,7-inch QHD AMOLED, Exynos 7422 processor, an evolution of the processor mounted on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge (devices that lead the list of the most powerful AnTuTu in the first half of 2015), along with 4 GB RAM, an amount that will become common in high-end terminals and several storage options (surely 32/64/128 GB). The main camera will be 16 megapixels and the 4.100 mAh batteryIt will also run Android Lollipop.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus

If the Galaxy Note 5 looks like the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is identical to the Galaxy S6 Edge, just a little bigger. And there is no doubt that this pair of phablets will succeed the pair of smartphones presented at the Mobile World Congress last March, completing a catalog with four options: two smaller and two larger, where one of each pair has a classic screen and the other the screen with a double curve.

Although we would like to say otherwise, here not much to highlight. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has worked well, in fact it has sold more than the standard model, something that they did not expect even within the manufacturer itself, and the bet for this Plus version is not to touch anything, leave it as it was but with a slightly larger screen so that lovers of phablets, more and more numerous, have their option and do not opt for a competing device.

In this case, rumors point to a device with curved screen 5,7 inch QHD AMOLED (equaling the size of the Galaxy Note 5), inside it would have the processor Exynos 7420 (there may be a variant with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808), accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and the same storage options that we mentioned before, the 3.000 mAh battery (the difference is surprising although we will see) and Android Lollipop 5.1 customized with TouchWiz, layer that includes the functions for the curved screen.
