Street View is updated with 400.000 km more view at street level

The battle of the maps is not over yet. Google has made the biggest update to its service Google Maps Street View with 400.000 new kilometers from street view around the world and folding special collections of data on places of interest.

Since it was leaked that Google was working on an application for iOS that incorporates Google Earth and that will come out at the end of September, Google's movements have been in the mobile browser. Street View reached the browser of the mobile devices of the apple company with operating system iOS 6. Well, it seems that this open front was not fully exploited and those of Mountain View have continued forward.

Google Maps Street View has expanded its international coverage with new street and road views in Macau, Singapore, Sweden, the United States, Thailand, Taiwan, Italy, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Norway and Canada. In addition, they have added special collections of data in countries such as South Africa, Japan, Spain, France, Brazil, Mexico among many others. This was stated by the Director of the Street View Program Ulf Spitzer.

Among the chosen places there are natural parks, historic centres or prominent sites such as monumental ruins or Museum visits. Our country has a few, among which the city of Cuenca, Ávila, Segovia, a visit to Antoni Gaudí's La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, ​​the National Art Museum of Catalonia and the Reina Sofía Museum stand out. Some of these are still under development.

Apple will not be happy with this improvement, but Google seems not to want to lose the initiative in what has always been one of its best projects for ambition and execution. We will have to wait until the end of the year to see if that application finally reaches iOS 6 and if it integrates Street View and Google Earth. The idea we get is that it is becoming more and more outlandish for Apple to deprive its users of a service of this quality.
