Presented on March 31st, today finally goes on sale in our country the latest tablet presented by Microsoft, the Surface 3. The third generation of the "smaller" range of Redmond comes to the market for a lower price than the Surface Pro 3, launched last year, with the aim of reaching users with a more limited budget. Its characteristics have also undergone important changes compared to its predecessors, since they abandon the ARM architecture for the first time in favor of an Intel chip and run the full version of Windows 8.1 upgradeable to Windows 10.
The new Surface 3 has a screen of 10,8 inches with Full HD resolution, Intel processor Atom Cherry Trail x7-Z8700 with support for 64 bits and four cores that work at a frequency of 2,4 GHz, 2 or 4 GB RAM, and 64 or 128 GB storage. The main chamber is 8 megapixels and the 3,5 megapixel front, the battery guarantees an autonomy of about 10 hours, WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort and microSD and the Windows 8.1 full version Unlike previous models with Windows RT, it will be upgraded to Windows 10 when it comes out in the next few months.
As we said, you can already buy through the Microsoft official store in Spain, for a price that starts from 599 euros (model with 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage). If we want the superior model (4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage), the figure rises to $719, always below the 799 euros that the basic version of Surface Pro 3 costs (Intel Core i3, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage). In both cases, a one-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal whose value is set at 69 euros.
The price is not included keyboard cover (available in black, blue and red colors) whose price is an additional 149,90 euros, nor the Surface pen (same colors plus white) that costs 49,99 euros. If we want the docking station (dock) we will have to add 229 euros to the account and 54 euros if we want an official Microsoft screensaver.
