Microsoft has presented Surface Pro 2 first at its event today in New York before its companion, simply called Surface 2. The new professional tablet from Redmond has significantly improved usability. For this it has sensibly extended its autonomy and it has been done more comfortable with a new foot or support that helps us to use it on our lap.
Its external appearance is almost identical to that of the first generation but it keeps a beast inside.
Among its new features is the screen that remains the same Clear Type HD but with 46 percent more color accuracy.
As expected we have an even more powerful team than the previous one. Panos Panay assured in his presentation that it is a tablet faster than 95% of laptops. It has been improved performance by 20% and a 50% graphics performance compared to the previous model. And most importantly, you now have 75% more autonomy. All thanks to its chip Haswell architecture and its excellent energy management that gets more out of the battery and requires less ventilation, so it is more silent.
Inside you will have 4 GB of RAM, for options 64 GB and 128 GB storage, or 8 GB of RAM, for options 256 GB and 512 GB of storage.
Another thing that have improved the support o kickstand or foot. It has two different positions to be able to put on the lap as well as on the table.
Accessories
The equipment has been presented with various accessories.
Among them the already filtered Power Cover, which gives you two and a half times more battery life. With it we can work all day without problems.
We also have the Surface Docking Station where we can place the tablet and it gives us 3 UBS 2.0, 1 USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort, Ethernet, Audio in / out and current. We can connect two displays with resolutions up to 3280 x 2160 pixels.
Last we have Surface Type Cover 2, the second generation of the most rigid keyboard that we found in the line in its beginnings. It comes in two new colors: pink and purple, in addition to the classic blue and black. It is a millimeter thinner than the previous one and has more space between the keys, 1,5 mm more, to give a better experience. It has a backlight and lights up when you're typing thanks to the proximity sensor.
