How to sync Chrome tabs on computer and Android

sync tabs computer tablet

There is no doubt, one of the great virtues of mobile devices today is that they allow us to synchronize and articulate work (or leisure) on any screen, regardless of where we are. Then it will depend on each user to use tablets, smartphone o PC, depending on your possibilities or your preferences. We show you how, with a simple adjustment, we can move through the browser tabs Chrome, regardless of the device we use.

Are you one of those users who, in order to read a website that you find on your computer from your smartphone, you send yourself a email with the link? Of course, there is nothing to be ashamed of, we have all done it at some point. However, there are more efficient ways to carry out content convergence between desktop and tablet or mobile. Evernote or Pocket are extremely powerful resources, capable of saving links and making them accessible from our account on any device, even No internet connection.

However, for even more advanced use, we have the synchronization of tabs in Chrome.

Previous steps: we must have the browser ready

It's simple. In order to synchronize the tabs between a PC and a mobile device we must make sure that we have our account activated in the browser. To do this we must display the Chrome menu (upper right area)> Configuration and enter the email and password. We click on synchronize (or accept).

Once we have this step, we return to the same place in Settings> Advanced sync settings and we make sure that the option 'Open tabs' is checked.

Now we go to the mobile or the tablet

The next thing is to launch Chrome on our mobile terminal and click on the three horizontal points in the upper right part. When the menu is displayed, we enter Recent tabs and in that area we can click on Enable sync. Next, we will be shown all the websites that we have open on the PC or on other Android, even on the iPad if we have replaced Safari with the Google browser.

For everything to go well, we must, of course, also have the automatic synchronization of our Google account running. If not, from Settings> Accounts, click on the menu and Automatic synchronization.

When is it better than using Evernote or Pocket?

Obviously, this feature is no better than Evernote or Pocket itself. Personally, I am an absolute fan of both apps and I do not lack them on any of my devices. However, I usually try to use both one and the other to organize my work, saving content that more or less I know I will take advantage of.

Having the Chrome tabs synchronized serves me in two moments (I suppose that you will adapt it to your own daily practices, of course): To articles and news I want to browse, but little else, and Chrome sessions that sometimes require having different websites open at the same time, especially if I'm working with different sources. It can also be interesting if we frequently go to a series of websites (for example, Filmaffinity, Wikipedia, Google, etc.) and we like to have a session with all of them at hand or if we prefer the browser version to the applications (and more than one case I know).
