So far in 2013 we have seen how many classic computer and console games from the late 80s and early 90s have been recovered for the touch screens of the iPad and Android tablets. We want to do a review of those titles so that you can go back to childhood if you are already an age or so that you know the history of the video game if you are younger.
Duken Nukem II
This 1993 classic made its appearance on iPad screens in the spring of this year on the occasion of its 20th Anniversary. It represents one of the first platform games with action. The second installment of the saga was chosen because the fans remember it most fondly.
You can get it for 1,79 euros for iPad.
Unfortunately it is not available for Android. Maybe you can settle for Duke Nukem 3D, shooter Inspired by this famous saga, also a classic and free, which has been around since 2012.
Afterburner Climax
This is the arcade version that was released about 7 years ago and that was inspired by the two wonderful SEGA games that we have been able to enjoy since 1987 on both computers and the company's first consoles. Here the aircraft models are more current and the graphics more polished. However, the essence of the game and the capacity for fun remain maximum.
Get it for 2,79 euros for iPad and for 2,75 euros for Android tablets.
Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame
If already in 2012 we saw the replacement of the first installment of this legend of PC games, in the summer of 2013 we have seen its arrival on the two most important mobile platforms. Beyond the reinterpretations for modern consoles, this title recovers the dynamics of the 1993 original, essentially a platform game, but with improved graphics of our times. The level of possible addiction is identical, although there are some add-ons that can hurt the feelings of purists such as additional weapons and attack combinations.
You can get it for 2,69 euros both for iPad as if to Android tablets.
Final Fantasy IV
In 1991 Square Soft released the fourth installment of its RPG with a very transcendental novelty for the genre, the battles in real time. The invention is not trivial since we have seen many games use it afterwards. This is one of the most important sagas in the history of the video game and this installment is one of the most important of it.
Recovered for iOS in late 2012, it arrived on Android in the middle of this year.
Its price in the Play Store is 14,49 euros, the same that you will pay in the ITunes App Store.
Final Fantasy V
The RPG genre owes a lot to this jewel from 1992 for Super Nintendo. In it, the work system for the characters was strongly developed, which allowed them to increase their skills by following rhythms and parameters. Again
Only available for iPad for a whopping 14,49 euros.
In Android we also have the II, III, as in iOS, but they came out in 2012.
metal slug ii
The second edition of this classic action platformer was the last to hit the touch screens of the tablets of the two dominant platforms. Curiously for users because 2 enemy characters were added, allied soldiers in combat and new super combat machines. It is already from a time a little later than 1998 and for a very powerful console such as the Neo-Geo, it is still remembered as a classic.

Metal Slug X
It is not strictly a classic but if you like the saga you can also get the most out of it. It was published in 1999 as a spin off of the previous one that we have just cited. It offers better playability than Metal Slug 2 and some extra content.
The interesting thing is that it has the same price of 3,59 euros as the previous one both in Android as on iOS.
Simon the sorcerer
Launched by Mojo Touch, it brings us to Android on its 20th anniversary one of the best graphical adventures of the early 90's developed for MS-DOS and Amiga by Adventure Soft.
This game takes us directly to the best time of graphic adventures and shows us the famous game system of combining objects with actions to solve logic puzzles.
Curiously, this company has waited two years to launch it on Android after it did on iOS. The advantage is better graphics quality and performance.
You can get it in the Play Store for 3,13 euros and in the App Store for 1,79 euros.
Carmagedon
A bit late but one of the computer games that gave the most talk in the late 90s. The gratuitous violence posed by a game consisting of destroying the cars of your rivals and running over as many people as you could, came into conflict with the conservative turn of morality that began to take place at the end of the 90s and that we suffer today. Despite its virtuality and having games with more cruel approaches in its realism, it continues to be a point of reference for what is controversial in the video game.
This review graphically improves what we find in the game for PC and Mac, although its control is a bit complicated.
