The A8 processor of the iPhone 6 begins to show its power

One of the great novelties of the iPhone 6 presented a few days ago by Apple is undoubtedly the second generation of its 64-bit processor, the A8. There was no doubt that the performance that this chip would offer would be exceptional and is corroborated by the first performance tests that have begun to appear after the arrival of the terminal on the shelves of the stores. The tests show the progress compared to the previous smartphone of the firm, and also, a slight superiority to the competition.

The criticisms about the A7 that we found inside the iPhone 5s were already very positive for the brand of the bitten apple, and according to official data provided by the Cupertino company, this A8 (from dual core) is not only 13% smaller but also has a 20% and 50% faster CPU and GPU respectively, so a priori, it should be even one step ahead.

Graphics performance

GFXBench, one of the most common tests when placing a new terminal on the market, places the iPhone 6 in a privileged situation despite including a RAM 1GB. A second position in graphics performance that has only been addressed by the Nvidia Tablet Shield and the Tegra K1 processor, optimized for an unparalleled gaming experience. This information contrasts with other data such as the Basemark X, in whose classification it was below the Nexus 5. No less important is the difference between the 6-inch iPhone 4,7 and the iPhone 6 Plus, quite considerable, which confirms that the higher resolution of the larger model has a negative effect in this sense (something very important to take into account when comparing it with the rest).

Battery

One of the aspects that most worries users is the battery. This has been one of the weakest points of previous models, and for that reason, they look at them with a magnifying glass. The iPhone 6 battery still does not have a capacity on a par with the Android, 1.810 mAh, but it seems that it does not need it either according to the results that we show you below. Both the 4,7-inch and 5,5-inch versions are at the top of this autonomy test (when browsing the Internet).

javascript

There is no discussion here, both SunSpider as Creak (developed by Mozilla) keep for Apple smartphones (also the previous generation) a place at the top. Again, it's the Nvidia Tablet Shield that gets them in trouble.

What do you think of these tests? Do you think they conform to reality?
