From the first times we started hearing about the Asus smartwatch, a feature was associated with it: Low cost. The company was clear that it wanted to develop a device that would reach the market for a lower price than the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live, the first two Android Wear just presented at that time, had been announced, precisely U.S. dollar 199 (199 euros in Spain). Now and when their presentation is less than a week away, they reiterate their idea through their CEO Jerry Shen.
Next September 3 will take place among other events, the presentation event of the first Asus smartwatch. The Taiwan-based company has not bothered to hide its intentions, quite the contrary, it has shown different promotional stuff in the last weeks. This is the case of an image where they revealed the shape of the device, one of the most important aspects to discover, and it would not be round but would have rounded edges.
They have also recently named the gadget, the Asus smartwatch will be called ZenWatch, recovering a name that had already been used within the company with some phones known as ZenPhone. The video that we leave you below slightly shows some parts of the design that logically coincide with the teaser in the form of the previous image, all under the slogan: "Time has been tranformed, and we have changed" (In Spanish "Time has changed, and we have changed").
Now the CEO of the company, Jerry Shen has taken the floor to confirm one of the aspirations that were proposed when they decided to take the step and join Google's platform for wearables, the price of their smartwatches. it will be less than the 199 dollars that cost the first advertised, the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live and the 250-300 dollars that is rumored, will cost the third one that has already been announced and for sure, the most anticipated of all, the Motorola Moto 360.
He has also announced that it will be available in the United States and other markets that will be indicated on the day of the presentation for the month of October. Voice control, one of the features in which they have placed the most hope, has also been part of his pre-IFA speech, and he has said, it will be available in China before the end of the year although it does not depend 100% on Asus. We will have to wait for them to specify these figures on the 3rd, since they have not wanted to give the exact price they will have either.
