Not long ago we left you a review of the best phablets of 6 inches or more, but since then we have had a few very interesting additions, so this mid-year summary serves as a complement for those who are looking for a smartphone with a screen as large as possible and whatever the price range in which let's move, because there are options for everyone.
Galaxy S9 More
As here we are going to limit ourselves to the phablets launched in 2018, we are going to have to leave out the Galaxy Note 8 (many, in any case, surely already have their sights set on its successor, which will be presented this summer), but it is forced to make a hole for the other flagship of Samsung, Galaxy S9 More, which not only has among its claims a spectacular 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution (the best on the list in this section), but also one of the most powerful processors (Exynos 9810) and one of the highest level cameras. And if there were few reasons to bet on it, keep in mind that after a while since its launch, it can now be found much cheaper, even for around $750.
Huawei P20 Pro
The flagship of Huawei It is another phablet that cannot fail to appear in this selection, with a screen that also exceeds 6 inches (6.1 inches), although in this case "only" with Full HD resolution. However, this is not the main reason to turn to him. Huawei P20 Pro, but the photographs that we can take with him that for something has become the best valued in the popular DxO ranking, something that his camera is very much to blame for (with three sensors, 40 MP and x3 optical zoom) but also the artificial intelligence of the Kirin 970 that mounts, a processor that stands out not only for its power. Also in this case we can benefit from a notable drop in prices, which has left us for around $750.
HTC U12 +
HTC It has been in the doldrums for another year and perhaps its latest flagship will not help it recover in sales as much as they would like, but what cannot be denied is that they have left us another of the great phablets of the year, to which very few hits are They can put you, with a large Quad HD screen, all the power we need thanks to a Snapdragon 845 and the camera that right now is on the heels of the Huawei P20 more closely. What really separates you from the rest (for better or for worse, depending on the taste), anyway, is your design, and more specifically the commitment to squeezes and "false" buttons. Of course, here there are no sales at the moment, which leaves us with a price of $800.
Xiaomi Mi 8
For those who are looking for something a little more affordable, as always, Xiaomi It also has something to offer us, and it is nothing less than its flagship that has arrived with a 6.2-inch screen and has become an even better option than the Mix 2S for those who want a large phablet (although this will still be a better option. for those who resist the notch). It lacks some other detail perhaps to compete more directly with the other high-end, such as Quad HD resolution or water resistance, but in the performance section it is more than enough with a Snapdragon 845 and 6 GB of RAM and its camera has crept into the top 5 of the DxO ranking. We need it to arrive in Spain and see what its price is finally here, but it seems reasonable to expect it to be around the $500.
OnePlus 6
If you don't want to wait, the other great option in this price range is undoubtedly the OnePlus 6, whose screen is still somewhat larger (6.28 inches) and which shares most of its strongest points (it also arrives, for example, with a Snapdragon 845 and 6 GB of RAM) and of the least (it also stays in the Full HD). Where we do lose out more clearly with respect to the Xiaomi phablet is in the cameras section, where it meets without problems with a 20 MP dual camera, but it cannot be said that it shines. As we said, this we can buy now, starting with only $520.
Nokia 7 Plus
We end up highlighting as an extra one of the most interesting mid-range we have known this year, with the added attraction of being a Android One, something that we know that attracts many, both for the user experience closer to pure Android and for the probability of receiving updates much faster than usual. Its quality / price ratio is very good, in addition: the Nokia 7 Plus It can be found without problems for less than 400 euros, and it leaves us a Full HD screen of 6 inches, it mounts a Snapdragon 660, has very good autonomy and comes with a 12 MP dual camera with level details, such as 1,4 um pixels or 2x optical zoom.
