MediaTek has officially unveiled the first 8-core processor From the market. Perhaps some of you think: “But wasn't Samsung's Exynos Octa the first? ". However, that chip that contained 8 cores never used them all at the same time. The Taiwanese company has surprised locals and strangers with a truly admirable fact, this chip does use all 8 cores simultaneously and has been defined by the company as True Octa Core.

A few weeks ago, we warned you that MediaTek was working on this project, thanks to the leak of benchmark results from the model MT6592. In the AnTuTu test he obtains results above the 30.000 points, like the Snapdragon 800.

The essential difference with the Exynos Octa is that the eight cores that we find in the CPU of this SoC are divided into two groups of 4. One of them is of Cortex-A15 cores, of maximum power, for difficult tasks and another of cores. Cortex-A7, low battery consumption, dedicated to simple and background tasks. This organizational logic responds to the ARM big.LITTLE architecture.

In the case of the True Octa-Core all work at the same time and this will allow boost performance, increase autonomy and, therefore, improve the user experience. In the announcement that they have made en su web, they say that this chip will be able to divide its processing power with a criteria by application or even by task. That is, each of the eight cores will work to be more efficient in what we are doing.

It is even noted that it will be possible dedicate a core to manage the input or user actions. Wickers have also been used to improve video playback and reduce latency in video games, in addition to reducing battery use by 18% when decoding Full HD video.

We do not know of what nature the cores that we will find are, but it was seen in that benchmark that they were set at a frequency of 2 GHz. It is too early to know when we will see a device using this chip but it is rumored that MediaTek has signed agreements with big brands like Sony to bring in new devices before the end of the year.
