The Galaxy S5 surprises with its hardness in the drop tests

Galaxy S5 resistance

Although this year Samsung has added the IP67 certification to the characteristics of your new Galaxy S5, there is no other detail within its specification sheet that makes us think that this terminal can offer greater resistance to shocks and falls than its predecessor. However, the video that we bring you today is proof that the new equipment of the Korean firm is capable of preserving its integrity even in fairly tough tests.

The following recording is the work of Techsmartt, and in it we can compare how the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy S4 are after suffering falls from different heights and in different positions. It is true that the design of the last generation it seems somewhat more robust in its polycarbonate with a dotted surface, but the format more compact S4 should also give you some plus in this regard.

Drop test: the Galaxy S5 stands up to it all

While the last generation of Samsung's flagship is suffering minor damage, first to the rear camera glass and second to the front panel, the Galaxy S5 is capable of bear all the blows with a truly surprising fortitude, even falling completely head-on in some of its impacts.

For those who plan to get this terminal, it will be pleasant to know that the packaging is robust and will not give in to any slight drop. This quality coupled with resistance to water and dust result in a smartphone equipped to survive almost any accident

Last test: the S5 is run over

Something that even the person making the video did not expect is that the Galaxy S5 would be able to withstand, almost intact, the passing of a car above itself. In this sense, the only flaw that we can appreciate is found in the camera glass, on the back. Everything else remains intact and the smartphone continues to function normally.

In short, after four falls from a considerable height and a run over, the new S5 only shows the occasional slight scratch.

You are a crack man! What do you think the IP67 certification is given for its pretty face?

      Hello,
IP67 certification is for resistance to dust (6) and water (7). As far as I know, it has nothing to do with the hits:
