These days we have been talking a lot about the Galaxy Tab Active 2, of which data were constantly being discovered, pointing to a forthcoming launch, and, indeed, we did not have to wait long for this to occur and we can already say that it is official: this is the new ultra-resistant tablet from Samsung, which has significantly improved over its predecessor.
Galaxy Tab Active 2: Ability to survive everything and some premium design details
The design section is undoubtedly the star in the new Galaxy Tab Active 2 and, for once, its qualities have nothing to do with aesthetic issues. In fact, little has changed in this regard compared to its predecessor, except for the shape of the buttons on the front.
What is most interesting about it, in any case, is that a tablet that can withstand the harshest conditions, as guaranteed by the MIL-STD-810 certificate: it supports drops up to 1,2 meters, hold extreme temperaturesit's water and dust resistant and the touch control of the screen is thinking to respond better with gloves y wet. To all this we must add in this new model the arrival with S Pen (also with water resistance and with 4096 pressure levels), with fingerprint reader and with port USB Type-C.
An important advance in technical specifications
Not only are there interesting improvements in the design section, going beyond offering maximum resistance, but there has also been an important evolution in the technical specifications, a point in which its predecessor is true that it did not shine too much. We are, however, going to get the worst news out of the way first, which is that it is confirmed that the resolution remains in 1280 x 800.
Moving on to the more positive ones, indeed, this time we are going to have a processor of a certain level, a Exynos 7870, and they will accompany you 3 GB RAM memory. Unfortunately, it doesn't have Oreo yet, but it probably would have been asking too much when the first flagships with that version are only now starting to arrive. The cameras are also quite level (8 MP and 5 MP). To complete the set we have 16 GB of RAM and a battery of 4450 mAh.
Pending confirmation of the price and to which markets it will arrive
We will not have to wait long, since Samsung has announced that it will be launched still in the month of October. Of course, although the statement is global, it seems that we cannot take it for granted that we will be able to get hold of it anywhere, since it specifies that it will only reach some markets. The previous one was launched in Spain, so if you are interested in a device of this type there are reasons to hope.
There is also no specific information on the price, but some leaks have not already given an orientation and taking into account that they have nailed everything else they deserve us to give them a margin of confidence. According to these information, it would be between 500 and 600 euros, a high price, but still within expectations taking into account its particular characteristics and the fact that it will arrive with LTE.
