IPad Air 2 Faces First Drop Tests

We have been seeing benchmarks and analysis of the iPad Air 2 and it was only a matter of time before the most spectacular (and somewhat painful) appeared drop tests, especially considering that we have already seen the inevitable "flexibility" test, to check if the tablet Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), runs into the same problems as the phablet. How will stop come out of this somewhat more conventional endurance test? We show you the results.

The screen suffers a lot of damage

El video begins, to make the test even more painful, letting us verify that the tablet to be tested is completely new, showing us how it removes even the protective plastics for the first time. As is customary in this type of test, two drills are carried out falls, looking for different impact zones. In the first one, it is intended that the tablet falls on its side and it is seen how the affected corner is seriously damaged, with many cracks. In the second, in theory the most dangerous, since it is intended that the crash is directly on the screen, we see a similar result, however, with new cracks in the opposite corner.

iPad Air 2 crashed

Still fully operational

Despite the damage to the screenThe good news is that the tablet continues to be fully operational, so a simple repair should be enough to have our iPad practically like new. It is, on the whole, a good result, very similar in fact to what we saw in the drop tests of the first iPad Air, which proves that the reduction in thickness has not made it any more brittle.
