What have been, according to the Zeitgeist from 2013, the big issues in the mobile device sector? We give you all the details about the tablets, phablets and apps that have had the most talk in 2013.
Although in the end the Sales numbers are the data that really moves manufacturers of mobile devices and developers, the data on the most popular gadgets and applications are almost as interesting (at least for the media and users) and, although the statistics of Google, of course, they are not a perfect indicator of it, at least they allow us to get a good idea of the main trends, both in Spain as at level overall (the data is somewhat different, as you will see now).
The most popular applications
As a distributor of all kinds of digital content, there is no doubt that Google you are quite interested in what the applications on which more information has been searched on the net. As we anticipated, however, the results are quite different for Spain and for the rest of the world. On Spain, the applications whose popularity has grown the most over the last year have been Line, Gree, invizimals, Fintonic, Gossip, Welvi, DGT, Gran Hermano, photodream y wine. To level overall, on the other hand, the top 10 is made up of Bitstrips, wine, Candy Crush, Meet me, Snapchat, Ruzzle, Instagram, Feedly, tinder e instafriends. As you can see, only in the popularity of wine the trends of our country and those of the rest of the world seem to coincide. It is also curious that only one game appears, although we are not so surprised that this is the Candy Crush.
The most popular smartphones
A more controversial point, however, is the reference to the most popular smartphones. Which manufacturer will occupy the highest positions? What operating system will be at the top of the ranking? Again, it is crucial to know where since, while in Spain number one is for him Nexus 5 (followed by iPhone 5 and the Nexus 4), which is an absolute victory for Google, globally the gold medal is for the iPhone 5S (followed by Galaxy S4 and the Nexus 5), tilting the balance to the side of Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),. There is no doubt that, in both cases, the popularity of smartphones with large screens is increasing, as the number of devices with screens of 5 inches or more is relatively high in both cases: in the first positions appear in the two ranking both the Nexus 5and Galaxy S4; in the ranking overall we also find the Galaxy Note 3 and in the ranking for Spain el Xperia Z.
The most popular tablets
The smartphones make up most of the list of electronics products more popular, but we still find a few others that manage to sneak in. The truth is that the main protagonists this year along with telephones (both for Spain and globally), in any case, are the video game consoles, not the Tablets, something that is not surprising in a year of generational change like this (last year up to 5 tablets reached the top of the ranking).
