Sony's new Windows 8 All in One PC and convertible tablet: Vaio Tap 21 and Vaio Flip

Sony Vaio Flip

Sony has presented its Windows 8 product line a little before the IFA starts. Among them are two touch devices that touch the limit of the tablet for the type of experience they offer and that we believe it is necessary to highlight due to its interesting approach and technical specifications. We have a AiO PC or with a laptop convertible into tablet, with several options.

We already talked about the company's first pure Windows 8 tablet, the Sony Vaio Tap 11, but here we go with the other two.

We are before a team All in One PC with Windows 8. It is the successor to the Vaio Tap 20 that was presented last year also at the IFA with a 20-inch screen. This time it increases its size a bit to 21,5 inches. Its resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels with IPS panel and multi-touch capability.

Has the integrated battery, so it is not totally dependent on food. It will have several positions, including completely lying on a table to be able to play with it as if it were Ludo.

Even so, it will be possible to use television and will have a connection by Bluetooth and NFC. Its price is expected to be around U.S. dollar 900 and that it arrives before the end of the year.

We are facing a laptop with fully fold-down keyboard that can have a tablet-like mode of use thanks to its touch screen. It somewhat imitates the approach of the different Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga. Thanks to a rear part with two blades and foldable you can acquire three positions: laptop, viewer and tablet.

In the viewfinder, the keyboard is extended face up and the screen facing away from it. While in tablet mode the screen folds completely over the keyboard.

It will come between three different sizes of 13, 14 and 15 inches of screen with resolutions that will oscillate between the Full HD and that will arrive up to 2880 x 1620 pixels. A real nonsense, using all of them the Triluminos technology.

Inside they will carry Intel Haswell chips with fourth generation cores. All models will have HDMI output and some may record 4K videos. All of them will come with the digital stylus Active Pen.

The 13-inch model will only weigh 1,17 kilos, but the 14-inch model will weigh 1,9 kilos and the 15-inch 2,08 kilos. This difference in weight is due to the different provisions in terms of storage and equipment.

We do not know its price and date of availability, but it is something that we will be solving in the next few dates.
