The professional tablets with more autonomy: ranking

iPad Pro vs. PC vs. Surface

Although the final push was given by the Surface Pro 3, launched more than two years ago, it is clear that 2016 is being the year of consecration of the professional tablets, with a significant expansion of the offer, where they have been added to the devices of Microsoft, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), y Lenovo also those of Samsung y Huawei, all of them of enormous quality. Today, in any case, we are going to focus on a specific factor, which can be quite important when choosing, since one of the advantages of these hybrids over conventional laptops is to be able to take them anywhere more easily, and for that a good autonomy. We review the models that stand out the most in this regard.

1.iPad Pro

The winner in the autonomy section at the moment is the iPad Pro, with almost 6 hours (359 hours) in the tests with more intensive work for the GPU and just over 8 hours (485 minutes) when use is limited to browsing, in both cases with the display brightness set to 200 nits. Without detracting from its victory, it must be said that we cannot say that it surprises us either, since of all the devices that we deal with today here is the one that leans more on the side of tablets and less on that of PCs, and It has the largest battery of the compared equipment (10307 mAh). It is also important to keep in mind that it is the only tablet on the list that does not run Windows 10, but iOS 10, as you well know.

2.Galaxy TabPro S

Samsung Windows tablet to work

The one that stays closest to the iPad Pro, as you can see, is the professional tablet from Samsung, although it must be said that it occupies the second place but quite a distance from the first, with about 4 and a half hours (262 minutes) in the most demanding test and 8 hours (463 minutes) in the navigation. Despite this, we must take into account the differences that separate it from the winner and that are not few, since the Korean tablet already uses Intel processors and has Windows 10 as an operating system. And if these factors do not seem sufficient to us to explain the distance between one and the other, there is still another more remarkable one and it is the capacity of their respective batteries, since theirs (with 5200 mAh) is almost half that of Apple (which on the other hand helps you achieve a thickness of only 6,3 mm).

3.ThinkPad X1

The tablet of Lenovo It is also quite far from the iPad Pro, but very, very close to that of Samsung, with just over 4 hours (247 minutes) in the most demanding test. Even more interesting is the fact that in the navigation test it is not only ahead of the Galaxy TabPro S, but it even surpasses Apple's, and quite comfortably, with 10 and a half hours (629 minutes). Although we do not have official figures, it is quite likely, yes, that these great results are achieved largely thanks to a battery with more capacity than Samsung's, which would explain that its thickness remains in the 8,4 mm, instead of going down to 6,3 mm like the other one does.

4.Surface Pro 4

The industry leader, the Surface Pro 4, does not particularly shine in the autonomy section and remains off the podium, at a certain distance from the Lenovo tablet, with just over 3 and a half hours (217 minutes) in the most demanding test. As was precisely the case with the ThinkPad X1, we find that the results are considerably better compared to the lightest test, the navigation test, where it far exceeds 8 hours (with 491 minutes) and would be second. The result is quite positive, in addition, considering the capacity of its battery, which is lower even than that of the Galaxy TabPro S (5087 mAh), even though its thickness is greater (8,4 mm, like the one on the Lenovo tablet).

5. Mate Book

Huawei MateBook for sale

Close the list the new one MateBook de Huawei, which was launched in our country not long ago, with less than 3 and a half hours (199 minutes) in the main test and just over 4 hours (254 minutes) in the navigation. It is striking that in this case there is not much difference between the results obtained in each of the tests, because all the other devices manage to achieve much higher scores in the second. In any case, it must be said that the result is, after all, to be expected, taking into account that it mounts the smallest battery on the list (4430 mAh). In compensation, we can say at least that, in addition to a thickness almost as small as that of the Galaxy TabPro S, it is the most affordable of the list.

More than an article about the tablets with more autonomy, it seems an article about the most powerful tablets.
