Acer has made official the launch of the second generation of your Iconia B1. This new installment will bring some small design changes, more connectivity options and better performance. In a press release that has reached us today, some of these modifications that we will tell you below are collected.
The new Acer Iconia B1-A710 may personalize with a case and stickers. We also appreciate that the bezel changes that blue plastic coating and becomes an aluminum look. But perhaps this is the most insubstantial of the changes to come.
In terms of specifications, it will retain its initial approach in many respects but there will be more changes. The most remarkable thing is that it will go from having a 1,2 GHz dual-core processor and 512 MB of RAM, to having one of quad-core 1,2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM. This will undoubtedly improve a performance that until now had not completely convinced us.
The storage options will remain with the choice between models of 8 GB or 16 GB, in all cases expandable up to an additional 32 GB by micro SD.
In connectivity we will also have more options. To the WiFi that already came in the first generation, now the 3GIn other words, the use of the Iconia B1 extends to the street by being able to make use of mobile networks.
The data provided is general and we do not know what type of quad-core processor it will incorporate. We intuit that as in the first run, it will be from the MediaTek brand, which is offering good results and even Sony has dared with them. In this case it would probably be the MT6589.
The starting price of this second Acer Iconia B1 will be the $129 in the most basic model and will hit stores in July.
We have already seen that the first model has dropped in price significantly in various online stores that offered it and we can buy it from only 110 euros.
