Since the first rumors about the intentions of Samsung to launch a version of Galaxy S4 in the purest style Xperia Z, with certifications of resistance to water and dust, we have been becoming aware of various tests that confirm its existence, and now we have even been able to see some benchmarks of the device that let us know some interesting information about their Technical specifications, in addition to what appear to be the first real images.
As we have already been commenting, Samsung has planned a good number of versions of his successful Galaxy S4 to broaden the audience for this phablet, which is already a bestseller in itself. Besides of Galaxy S4 Mini and the rumored Galaxy S4 Zoom, today we learned that a Galaxy S4 Mega and, for several weeks, we have also known the intention of the South Koreans to put on the market their own phablet with certificates of resistance to water and dust: The Active Galaxy S4.
Through various leaks we had already found out a few details about this new Galaxy S4 and we knew, for example, that his launch would take place in between the 15 and the 21 of July, and that it would probably arrive first in metallic orange. Today, however, we have had access to some benchmarks of the device, and in addition to discovering that the official name of Samsung for the terminal it seems to be Galaxy S4 JActive, have allowed us to know a good part of their Technical specifications and we have found some other surprise.
In most sections the characteristics of the Active Galaxy S4 will be identical to the model that is currently in stores: it will have the same screen of 5 inch Full HD, with 2 GB RAM memory and with Android 4.2.2 as an operating system. There is one notable difference, however, between the two versions: the processor. Meanwhile he Galaxy S4 dazzled us with the excellent results in tests of performance both for the version with the Snapdragon 600 as for the 5 Exynos Octa, it seems that the Active Galaxy S4 will have "only" one snapdragon s4plus.
Despite not being a processor of the latest generation, in any case, it is still a chip with great performance and will have a fairly high frequency, 1,9 GHz, so the device cannot be expected to suffer from power issues. Unfortunately, we have not yet had access to their scores in the performance tests to confirm the differences that may exist between the current version and the "rugged" in this section, but, of course, as soon as there is information about it we will tell you.
On the other hand and in parallel, images of the device have begun to circulate on the network today in which it seems that they are the first real photographs of it. As can be seen, the appearance is a little different, due to the metal casing and the new buttons that we find in the front of the equipment.
