A few weeks ago we received the news that Apple's new operating system, iOS6, will not natively carry the YouTube application. Google has moved quickly tab and already has the Youtube app for iOS . At the moment it is designed for mobile phones, although you can open it on your tablet, but they are already working to release an application specifically designed for the iPad. What at first seemed bad news for Apple users and the Mountain View company, only meant that the people of Google would have to get to work on an application for iOS. In reality, iOS users were going to win since Apple given that they will now be able to opt for an application that is frequently updated whereas previously it was only updated if the user updated the entire operating system.
This change in iOS is at the same time an opportunity for users to satisfy their desire to watch videos with other applications such as the already quite widespread Vimeo or communities of video as UStream and thus explore new environments. Especially on the subject of music playback, since YouTube closed spaces for music streaming applications that are much better than uploading a video to listen to a song.
At the moment the application is designed more for mobile, but Google works on one specially designed for tablets. Tomorrow, September 12, Apple will present its iOS 6 with the new iPhone 5In this way, Google seems to be prepared one day in advance. Surely this release date is not accidental and wants to generate some excitement just one day before a device and an operating system are presented in which, without a doubt, they want to be present and be protagonists.
The novelties are a side scrolling to view channels of Youtube to which we are subscribed and a better presentation of the searches.
You can download it now in iTunes and we hope to be able to notify you soon of the release of that version optimized for tablets.
