Two Alcatel tablets obtain WiFi certification

PIXI 7

La WiFi Alliance, in charge of certifying the devices before they go on the market, has been working with two Alcatel tablets in the last days. The first of them was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, although it has not yet been launched. The second is called Hero 8, which could be a reference to a previous phablet from the company. Both, after obtaining this certification, could soon reach the stores.

We finally have news from Alcatel. Since a low cost tablet was presented in Barcelona for a price of only 79 euros in Europe we had not had any information about the company again. This device, the PIXI 7 it was said, would be released in the summer and until now we had not heard of it. In the last days (documents dated July 28) has passed along with a second model under the name of Hero 8 by the WiFi Alliance, although the data we have on its specifications comes mostly from other sources. The entity has only confirmed that it will use Android 4.4, it will be compatible with WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n, WiFi Direct, Miracast and it will work on the 2,4 and 5 GHz frequencies.

PIXI 7

We started with the model we already knew. Alcatel took advantage of the last Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona to announce the PIXI 7, a tablet whose main attraction was the price: 79 euros. For this money we could have in our possession a 7-inch device with resolution 960 x 540 pixels, dual-core processor 1,2 GHz Mediatek, 512 megabytes of RAM, 4 gigabytes of internal storage expandable via microSD card, 2.840 mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 as the operating system. It has already rained since then, but it is also true that they warned that its launch would take place in summerNow, it is just a matter of waiting for the final announcement to begin marketing. Without a doubt, a low risk bet for those who want to enter this world.
