Windows 10 promises to be one of the great updates operating system Microsoft and one of the devices that more devices will be able to enjoy (including those that currently run with non-original versions of Windows 8). However, and as was warned months ago, there are some that are going to be left out: some smartphones that do not have the minimum hardware requirements and tablets with RT Windows. The latter, at least, are going to have something like a consolation prize, a update specific to them, of which they have already begun to discover the first details.
Update announced in late summer
More specifically, the information that has been made public today is the date of launch of esa new update. A couple of weeks ago they had started talking about I was practically ready, but the data has given it Gabe Aul via Twitter: the update, which you just called Windows 3 RT update 8.1, will arrive in the month of September. Users of these tablets will therefore have to wait only one or two months after updating the rest of the devices to Windows 10 to enjoy your own helping of novelties.
Unfortunately, what we do not know yet is what news these are and from Microsoft the media have been responding who have tried to get some more information that they hope to be able to share new information soon. It is assumed that the update will try to carry some of the features of Windows 10 to these tablets, which is expected to at least also enjoy universal applications, but at the moment there is nothing but speculation about it.
The end of Windows RT
The fact that Microsoft have announced that tablets with Windows RT would not receive Windows 10, even if they also confirmed that they would continue to support them, was the last nail in the coffin of this operating system in which manufacturers had progressively lost their confidence and increasingly decided to bet on their devices for the full version. The last tablets that carried it, the ones that had been the most successful and the longest they had managed to weather the storm, the first and the second Surface and Lumia 2520, they stopped manufacturing months ago, putting an end to this Redmond project.
