Xbox SmartGlass has made its arrival to iOS after it made it to Android and Windows mobiles and tablets. The application is already in the iTunes App Store and is completely free. As it seems natural, it only has support for iOS 5.0 or higher and comes to replace Xbox Companion that did less to connect your console to your mobile device. A warning, still not compatible with iPhone 5. An important step that remains to be taken, without a doubt.
Xbox SmartGlass is an application that the whole world of our mobile device or tablet our Xbox 360 console. The idea is that we can access content that we have there from the mobile to explore and manage them. We can also make use of the keyboard of the mobile for all those functions that require writing and of the touch gestures to navigate.
We can surf the internet with the support of the keyboard and by zooming. The tablet or smartphone becomes a remote control with the power to rewind, forward, stop and play on music and videos. In addition to playing these videos and music, we can explore them together with games.
You can also chat with your contacts, see your achievements and scores in the video games they play and modify your profile directly from your device.
The application for iOS arrives only a month after those of the other two platforms and allows us to have a dual-screen experience with which we are becoming more and more familiar. The control of the consoles is much more comfortable to play but these devices include access to the internet and other multimedia content that require another type of control. Microsoft has seen it very clearly and has made this possible on the three largest mobile device platforms. The only downside is that it does not have support for the new Apple phone. In fact, users are quite unhappy with this lack.
