The trajectory of Xiaomi It continues to be unstoppable and in 2014, its figures once again leave us with our mouths open. The Chinese company has achieved exceed 61 million smartphones sold, establishing itself as one of the great current manufacturers worldwide and despite not officially distributing its products outside its country of origin. And not only that, they have already started to wage war in this recently started 2015 in which they aspire to overcome themselves again as if it were a race against the clock against themselves.
Who would have thought four years ago, when Xiaomi was still taking its first steps, which today would be the main threat to the domain of Samsung and Apple. If by figures, it is fourth in the list of manufacturers (Lenovo “slips” third thanks to the purchase of Motorola), many point out it as the only one capable of putting the big two in check.
It is not surprising, since its trajectory has been meteoric in these years, we do not say it, the numbers say it, the ones that almost never deceive. In 2012 they managed to sell 7,2 million of devices that multiplied up to 18,7 million in 2013, a really surprising leap that remains practically an anecdote after passing in 2014, as the documentaries tell us, the barrier of 60 million, exceeding even 61 million of smartphones sold.
Preparing 2015
For this year the goal is to exceed that figure again and reach 100 million. It will be a challenge to overcome it, but it does not seem unattainable any more if we consider the expansion plans to other markets that would facilitate rapid growth. The first weapon to achieve this was presented yesterday, the Xiaomi Redmire 2, a device with a 4,7-inch HD screen, Snapdragon 410 and an 8-megapixel camera whose price is only 93 euros.
The next to be featured could be the Xiaomi Mi4S. There is some controversy regarding this terminal, since the rumors that reach us are somewhat diffuse and do not clarify whether it is a flagship for the first half of the year to which the Mi5 later, or is it a simple naming problem.
