Xiaomi presents the Mi Pad 2: all the information

We already told you last week that Xiaomi had summoned the media today and that among the devices that were going to see the light would be the expected successor to the Mi Pad (The queen of Chinese tablets) and fortunately, indeed, it has been: the most popular low-cost Chinese company, already has a new tablet with which to tempt us. We give you all the information about the features and the launch of the Mi Pad 2.

Integrated

Some of the most interesting news of this Mi Pad 2 we find them in the design section, even though the general lines of the tablet have hardly changed at all. However, it is impossible to fail to notice that the brightly colored plastic casing has been replaced by a more elegant casing of aluminum and that the device has slimmed down considerably, reaching the 6,99 mm of thickness. It is also quite light, weighing 322 grams.

Technical Specifications

You could not expect too many changes when it comes to the screen and there have not been: the 7.9 inches and the resolution 2048 x 1536. There is, however, a novelty that may be interesting and it is a new reading mode that will less strain your eyes. The multimedia section is completed by a main camera of nothing less than 8 MP and another front of 5 MP, the standard right now for high-end tablets.

The forecasts of a name change in the processor section have also been fulfilled and now we have a Intel Atom X5-Z8500, 14 nanometers and with support for 64 bits, quad-core and with a frequency of 2,2 GHz, which is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. The operating system, of course, will already be Android Lollipop.

Regarding the models in which it will be available, the basic version will be 16 GB, but there will be another one with 64 GB. It will be important to be clear about our needs because we will not have the option of external expansion. Finally, the battery will be 6190 mAh, and it will have a USB type-c connector.

Price and Availability

The best, as always, is the fantastic price at which we can get this tablet, although you already know that in the end we will depend on the intermediaries. The starting prices in China, in any case, are really tempting: the 16 GB model can be bought for the equivalent of about $140 and the 64 GB one for about $190.
