Xiaomi Mi4 vs HTC One M8: video comparison

Xiaomi Mi4 vs HTC One M8 in video

The first generation of the HTC One it was already considered by analysts and the specialized press as the best smartphone of last year; and this course, his successor is on the same path. However, there are a few terminals that can make things difficult for you, among them is the Xiaomi Mi4, with a great product focus, a magnificent design and a rather peculiar Android customization.

HTC It was one of the most influential Android manufacturers during the early stages of the mobile platform. Today it still accumulates an important prestige, however, the compliments are usually paid to a greater extent by the specialized press, while the public has focused its interest mainly on Samsung and Apple; although also in other emerging firms such as Xiaomi.

Either way, the video that we bring you today explains why terminals as interesting as the Mi4 have they still have a lot to learn of the Taiwanese company and its M8.

Construction, design and materials

Pocket Now editor rates the Mi4 and HTC One M8 designs as the most accurate, beautiful and of higher quality in general of the Android panorama, without any doubt. Even so, the Xiaomi team has a weak point, which does not quite fit in with the magnificent invoice of its frontal area and the metal profiles: the plastic back it is the mole within a construction that borders on excellence.

Fortunately, its back cover can be replaced by others of different finishes.

Xiaomi Mi4 customization

The HTC One M8 is entirely built in aluminum and offers fantastic sensations. Perhaps the weak point is the screen ratio and the overall dimensions of the team. Both are items that HTC sacrifices for unmatched audio.

Hardware and internal components

Although the two terminals use a Snapdragon 801, there are few similarities in everything else. In fact, the variant of the Xiaomi Mi4 chipset is somewhat Faster, with a frequency of 2,5 GHz for the 2,3 GHz of the M8.

The Chinese smartphone also offers more RAM (3GB vs 2GB), one battery higher (3.080 mAh vs 2.600 mAh) and a camera apparently also superior (13 megapixels compared to the 4,1 megapixels of the HTC One M8).

The truth is that these specifications are not reflected in the same way in both teams.

Multimedia

For example, in this section both have a panel of similar size and resolution (5 inches, 1920 x 1080), despite which, the One M8 display shows more vibrant colors and true to reality, while the Mi4 offers a somewhat warmer / yellowish image.

Xiaomi Mi4 speaker

As for sound, it is enough to listen to the comparison at minute 6:20 to realize that both terminals are light years away in this aspect.

Camera

Probably, this is the section in which the HTC One M8 shows poorer results, and it is that despite the technology ultra-pixel, the resolution falls a bit short, and as soon as we apply the zoom minimally we begin to lose quality severely. In addition, the software has difficulties in processing light when it is very intense and the HDR mode is not able to solve this problem either.

Still, we see that the difference between the two cameras under normal conditions is less than expected.

Throughout the video, you can also see the results in several captures that will allow you to reach a conclusion, but the M8 seems to have a better contrast and take pictures more clearespecially in low light environments.

All New One dual camera

When it comes to camera functions, there is no comparison possible either: The software offered by the M8 is much richer and offers options more advanced, also helped by the fact that the terminal has a dual lens to compensate for the lack of megapixels.

Conclusion

If we pay attention to this comparison, it seems that the HTC One M8 is a more consistent product in most sections. Yes, the price of the Xiaomi Mi4 is substantially smaller.

And you, which one do you choose?

I do not have the same conclusion, the mi4 is clearly more powerful, it has more battery and a better camera, it loses in sound. It wins by far in price and size. The curved design of the htc is cool but it is too tall compared to the xiaomi. In short, in what seems to me the most important, the mi4 wins. And if we talk about the SSOO that I already forgot, miui is the best, and you can include it in Spanish. By default it comes in Chinese / English, except in some stores.

"They still have a lot to learn from the Taiwanese company and their M8" pfffff what do you have to learn? in quality / price? no no ... wait ... the mi4 is much cheaper and with better hardware !! in software? no..no..wait .. that the xiaomi with miui v5 passes over sense..and it remains to be seen how miui v6 is going !! ... I do not understand why xiaomi has to learn from htc? will it be in advertising? or wanting to sell a smartphone at exorbitant prices for hardware and software that is more than used in the great "top of the range" and with copies like Xiaomi that without great fanfare like htc is already projecting itself as a successful company ... hopefully within the In the next few years they will expand to other countries and thus remove the positions of these companies that simply sell iron at the price of gold.

that miui is better than sense ??? pufff, sorry for me to laugh. you may like it better, but sense's elegant and careful design is not found in any other android. The hardware thing is logical because the m8 was launched in March and the mi4 will not arrive with European networks until the end of the year, because that is another, if htc is sold more expensive it is because it is sold. Xiaomi has its fiefdom in China and that is why it can put those prices, we will see when they are established in other countries ... the only ones who can afford this quality-price relationship are those who work from China based on exports or selling very few units. there is no other way to do it with state-of-the-art components.

In addition, the important thing is not the hardware it carries, the differences are small, but what it does with it. for that watch the video, xiaomi is behind in EVERYTHING

Sense better than MIUI? HAHAHAJAJAJAJAJAJA. Okay.

I am not saying that it is better, I am saying that there is no basis to say that one is better than the other. sense seems more mature and better finished, but against tastes ...
even so, laugh, it's good, lengthen life 😉

Just out of curiosity ... and if the xiaomi is a thousand times better, why do you buy a z2 that is three times more expensive?

Currently the M8 takes better photos than the Xperia Z2, I have made a video comparing the two cameras and the HTC One M8 provides better and more realistic photos. If you think I am crazy, watch the video I have taken and judge for yourself. HTC One M8 vs Xperia Z2 Camera comparison (4.4.4): http://youtu.be/Qf0oevte4A0
Look at the description for the comparison of the photos in high resolution and I am not favoring the two….
