Taking advantage of the launch of a WiFi-only version of the Xperia Z Ultra, we have rescued a video in which the device is compared with one of the reference teams in the 7 inches, the Nexus 7 2013, to analyze the similarities and differences that exist between this great phone and Google's compact tablet. Are they comparable devices? Does it make sense to remove the mobile connection from a phone? We will try to address these issues.
Sony It surprised in September of last year by putting on the market a terminal with a size closer to that of a compact tablet than the 5 inches of most of the flagships of the large firms. Now him Xperia Z Ultra brings out its tablet side with a model that dispenses with the mobile connection and the possibility of making phone calls.

Despite the fact that both devices present a screen of very similar dimensions, it is still noticeable that the Xperia Z Ultra look for lightness, as far as possible, above what the Nexus 7 of 2014 does, thicker and with more space for support.

The Nexus 7, on the other hand, is a high-performance device but oriented to the general public. Its materials (mainly rubbery plastic) are more modest.
Although the panel of both devices is Full HD, we also found differences in the format. The Xperia Z Ultra has an aspect ratio 16:9, phone, while the Nexus 7 203, uses a 16:10, from tablet.
Other aspects that define the Nexus 7 and the Xperia Z Ultra
The Google tablet tries to be efficient and comfortable for the user for multimedia tasks, in addition, it seems much more focused on offering a good ergonomics, while the Xperia Z Ultra sacrifices this aspect in exchange for a more elegance, a more solid construction and resistant to possible daily hazards (especially water and dust).
In the same way, and although both teams offer good results, the camera of the Xperia is typical of a mobile phone, with a much more advanced performance, while that of Google / Asus (like that of almost every device with a true tablet vocation) is something more expendable and it doesn't even bring flash.
