During the past 2016, Sony gave a veritable recital of updates on its latest flagships and over the course of several weeks we had frequent updates on this subject, until all models were given the promised treatment. In terms of launches, however, the Japanese firm was not as prolific as in previous times. Even so, the landing of Android 7 is already being prepared nougat to various terminals, such as X.
The latest of the tablets presented by Sony will receive Android Nougat soon. This is clear from the documents of the PTCRB, a body in which the large operators in North America participate and whose function is to certify the correct operation of wireless connections in different devices. The update, as far as we know, will affect not only the Xperia Z4 Tablet, but also the Z5 and Z3 +, that is, to all the teams that once mounted the Snapdragon 810 chip.
Nougat update appears on the internet
Nougat's software package approved by the PTCRB for the X appears in files that recently posted Xperiablog. This table shows the jump to build 32.3.A.0.372 that would already correspond to Android 7. Unfortunately, what we cannot specify now is the date on which the deployment will begin, although taking into account that Sony does not usually delay, the wait can be quite short.
The Xperia Z4 Tablet saw the light in the second half of 2015, and it came after the controversy with the Snapdragon 810, which Sony kept betting on (rightly in our judgment) after Qualcomm make some adjustments to keep the temperature stable.
Will the Xperia Z4 Tablet be the only one to update?
Despite the fact that in the past year both the Z3 Tablet Compact and Z2 (the latter was a pleasant surprise) they received Marshmallow quite quickly, it looks like both devices are going to be left out of this round of updates. As we understand it, Qualcomm does not support Nougat on the Snapdragon 800 and 801, as Sony itself was responsible for pointing out. For intrepid users, there is always the option of resorting to a ROM that does update unofficially. CyanogenMod/Lineage they work with most of the Xperia.
However, it is good news that the Japanese company maintains its two years of updates in a good part of its catalog of terminals and not only in the best sellers.
