Analysts claim iPad Mini has two cameras

With everything prepared for the presentation of iPad Mini which will take place this afternoon (in the morning in the United States), we get the latest leaks about the device that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is about to discover us, to give us yet another surprise before the event. According to some analysts who have been able to see the final design, the new tablet from Cupertino, contradicting what was expected, would have two cameras.

iPad Mini later

Although it seemed almost impossible that information about iPad Mini prior to their presentation that could reveal something to us that we did not yet know, the latest leaks that reach us via Gizmodo, continue to shed new light on this long-awaited device. The information that the analysts give us in this case, not simply estimates produced from their knowledge of the sector, but it seems to be that they are based on the fact that they have had device access test in the factories themselves, so it is worth paying some attention to them.

On the one hand, they confirm to us what we could already check in some pictures that saw the light a few weeks ago: despite having a significantly larger screen than that of the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HD (being, in fact, closer to 8 inches than 7), Apple would have succeeded in minimizing the side frames (bringing its design closer to that of the iPod) that, as a whole, the tablet is practically the same size as these. Experts claim that iPad Minitherefore, it will be small enough to “fit in a pocket”.

On the other hand, and more surprisingly, the latest information also tells us that, contrary to expectations, iPad Mini it would have two cameras, one front and one rear. This is a detail that would clearly make it stand out from the set of 7-inch tablets, among which the most frequent option is to dispense with the rear camera, much less used than the front one aimed fundamentally at the videochat, with the aim of reducing costs. There was quite a consensus that the foreseeable thing is that Apple will opt for the same strategy and most of the molds that we have seen of iPad Mini contributed to corroborate these speculations. In a few hours, in any case, we can confirm it.

I do not understand why there is so much fixation with the cameras on the tablets.

Personally, I find them quite useless, especially the rear ones. A device of such dimensions, with the shutter on the touchscreen, is a real pain in the ass to use as a camera. A front one for videoconferencing makes sense, a sharp one even on the back to scan codes etc could have it too, but I am not able to understand why there is so much criticism / commotion etc about whether a tablet has an 8 megapixel rear camera and carl zeigg optics or no (or as xD spelled) when it is an awkward device to use as a camera and most of the owners of one will have a digital camera / smartphone that will be much more comfortable, useful and viable to use as a camera.

Or does someone take the [fill in with the tablet that you like the most] to the street to use as a digital camera?

I think like you, for me the rear camera on a tablet is a bit too much for me.
