The news of iOS has been quite hectic lately, between the announcement and the release of the first betas of iOS 11.3 and the first leaks that are coming to us about iOS 12. Unfortunately, the latest news about the plans for Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), for 2018 They are not entirely good, although it must be said that they also have a positive reading.
Apple would delay most of the iOS news planned for 2018 until 2019
How they tell us in MacRumors, the latest news from Cupertino is that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), would have now informed his employees that the updates for iOS that they had already underway for 2018 has been deeply revised, more specifically, postponing a good part of the new arrivals that were to be introduced until next year.
Taking into account that we are always looking forward to receiving new functions or finding a renewed design in our favorite apps or in the menus that we use most frequently, the news is already a bit disappointing, but even more so when we read that among those news are found some that sound as interesting as a new home screen and new experiences for photos.
The news that would remain
According to these same sources, some of the planned novelties will be introduced in future updates, but it must be said that all those mentioned, such as the updates for Arkite, health app or parental controls improved, have been announced recently and some of them will arrive already with iOS 11.3, so it does not leave us many clues of what could be being saved for iOS 12, if there is anything.
Neither is mentioned one of the news that other sources had revealed that would arrive this year, which is the iBooks renewal, so that we cannot know (assuming for the moment that both leaks correspond to reality) if this could have been one of the postponed news or if it could still arrive with iOS 12, or even in upcoming betas of iOS 11.3
Apple would focus on improving performance and stability
We said at the beginning that the news had a positive reading and, indeed, all these cuts in new functions have as a counterpart that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), would focus on improving his next updates el performance and stability de iOS. It is not as exciting as the idea of being able to do new things with our iPad or iPhone, but it is true that they are basic issues for our user experience.
Of course, we must insist that none of this is official and we must take everything with some caution, but from time to time we find more updates of this type, with less news and more substantive improvements, and even if they do not call us so much attention, it is true that they seem necessary (if not inevitable). Not every year we can have updates like iOS 11. Interestingly (or not), how little we know at the moment of Android P it looks like it could point in a similar direction.
