Asus is one of the manufacturers in the tablet sector that surprises us the most with innovative formulas and from which rumors about new devices never stop arriving, but until now we had not heard of any of these projects, which apparently would be in the plans future of Taiwanese: padfone mini, Memofone HD 5. y Memopad HD 8.. From what we see, the Taiwanese would be betting heavily on some of their most popular lines.
Although in recent times we have not been exactly short of presentations by Asus (The FonePad Note FHD 6The new Transformer and a few more devices at Computex and, more recently, the new nexus 7 de Google), it seems that soon we could meet at least three more devices: a version of the PadPhone compact tablet type, a phablet somewhat smaller than the FonePad Note FHD 6 and a tablet similar to the Memo Pad HD 7 but with a slightly larger screen.
The information would come directly from Asus
In a talk held in Paris, Asus has shown a slide with some of the devices on which their plans to increase their presence in the mobile device market (with a special interest in the US smartphone market) and among the different names that we have seen in she we have met some acquaintances, like him PADFONE INFINITY. (of which we have seen benchmarks recently riding a Snapdragon 800) And the Memo Pad HD 7 (that recently it has started to be sold in our country, shortly before the MemoPad FHD 10) or FonePad Note FHD 6 (presented, as we say, in the Computex).
The surprise has been that along with these devices there have also appeared a few of which so far no news had reached us, and that the rumors about projects of Asus are not exactly rare (only a few days ago we learned, for example, working on an even thinner tablet than the Xperia Z). The devices in question, of which we only know the names at the moment, would be a padfone mini, Memofone HD 5. or with a Memo Pad HD 8.
A smartphone / tablet hybrid and a phablet
Although for now, as we say, we do not have any more details about their characteristics, it is not difficult to imagine that padfone mini refers to a smartphone that would insert this time a smaller screen (probably 7 or 8 inches) to form a tablet, perhaps also with more modest specifications than the current one PADFONE INFINITY. to make it more affordable, while it seems safe to think that the Memofone HD 5. it will be a phablet of 5 inches, probably mid-range and with a relatively low price, judging by the reference to the HD screen of its name and by what we have seen in other members of the MeMO family, in which the quality / price ratio.
An 8-inch tablet will also arrive
The third surprise that we have come across in this talk has already been regarding tablets, where it has appeared alongside the new ones. Transformer and new nexus 7 a reference to the Memo Pad HD 7 and another device whose existence we had not heard of until now, called Memo Pad HD 8 (although we must not rule out that it was the same compact tablet with Windows expected to be presented at the IFA de Berlin). Again, we do not have more concrete details, but the nomeclature of the tablet makes it clear that we should expect an affordable tablet (with HD screen and not Full HD, for example) of the size, now so popular, of the iPad mini: 8 inches.
When could these new devices arrive?
Unfortunately, not only are there no details about the characteristics of these three new devices, but there would not be many clues as to when we could meet them, although, having the IFA de Berlin just around the corner and considering that practically all manufacturers save some presentation for the return of the holidays, we can hope that we may not have to wait too long.
