Project Tango Tablet, announced by Google for developers

Google has presented the Project Tango Tablet Development Kit, a device that is included in one of the most ambitious plans of Mountain View, with which they want to reinvent three dimensions from mobile terminals. This announcement represents a new step that brings this technology even closer to the moment of its commercialization. The tablet has, among other features, a processor Tegra K1, 4 gigs of RAM, 128 of storage and can be purchased for a total of U.S. dollar 1.024.

After the sale of Motorola to Lenovo, Google decided to keep one of the divisions that is carrying out two of the company's longest-running projects, aTAP, Responsable of Project ARA and also from Project Tango. This latest initiative develops a device that, thanks to various depth and motion sensors, allows capturing three-dimensional images at scale and real time, with more than 250.000 measurements per second. With this technology it is possible to recreate objects, people or even maps in three dimensions simply by moving the device.

Several weeks ago we learned of the existence of a t7-inch tablet, which is equipped with two cameras, multiple sensors and specific software he was able to carry out this work. The team was part of one of the experiments they have been conducting during this time. Now it has been unveiled officially a tablet that is an important step towards the future of this project, since it allows developers who are interested to start working and study the possibilities of this technology.

As the companions of AndroidHelp, the Project Tango Tablet has an integrated processor Nvidia Tegra K1, one of the most powerful currently, which will have as a companion a RAM memory of no more and no less than 4 gigabytes, as well as 128 gigabytes of storage. The rear camera is 4 megapixels with a size of two micrometers, the same that HTC uses in the main camera of the One M8. With this sensor you can capture movement and depth. The front camera has a 120 degree angle.

How much? You could read it at the beginning $1.024. Who can buy it and when? No details have been given on availability beyond that it will be on sale before the end of this year 2014 and it will be limited to a specific number of units. Yes indeed, can only be purchased by developers, who will receive regular information on the progress of the project.
