Alternatives to Nexus 7 in price, quality and format

To the south, north, east and west of Nexus 7, countless low-cost tablets have arisen that try to compete with Google's by agreement or contrast. We are facing an old acquaintance. This tablet has great specifications that in many respects surpass those of the tablet manufactured by Asus. Obviously it is not Android or low cost. But if you are not very dogmatic about the operating system, you may be interested see them compared. Apple's build quality and performance should never be underestimated.

Good brands and cheaper

As a second category, we would have brands that have decided to attack Google's for the price, putting as a guarantee that they are contrasted brands.

HP Slate 7

It is a really interesting tablet that will come for a price of about 150 euros. Its specs are worse in most respects, however it does feature a microSD slot and rear camera. You can see them together here.

Asus Memo Pad 7

This tablet has as its best ally the price, only 158 euros and the guarantee that it is a trusted brand. For the rest, unless we are very bad of money or we value a lot the power to use SD, it is not worth it in comparison with the tablet that they made for the Californian company.

Acer Iconia A1-810

With a price of 199 euros when it hits the market, it is a tablet that offers us things that Nexus 7 does not have such as the SD slot, the HDMI, the rear camera and Apple's own 4: 3 screen format. Cheaper

There are manufacturers that still do not enjoy a great prestige and that with the price they seek to gain a foothold in the tablet market. It's fair to say that low price doesn't always mean poor quality and here are two examples.

BQ Maxwell Plus

This tablet is the most advanced of a spectrum of the Spanish BQ Readers. The specifications are modest but sufficient and in some aspects they cover shortcomings that we can attribute to Mountain View, such as SD and OTG-type USB. It costs only 139 euros and this company is known for its great customer service. If you want something closer to the reference tablet at 7 inches, you can opt for B.Q. Edison which has a 3G version, although for 199 euros and 249 euros, respectively, its competitive capacity decreases.

Ainol Novo 7 Myth

The Chinese brand has such a number of different tablet models that it is easy to get lost. Lately it has released a couple of tablets with screens equal to those of Google, 1280 x 800 pixels, and IPS panels accompanied by very interesting quad-core processors. In addition, they have an SD slot and HDMI out port. New 7 Myth is one of them, although New 7 Venus It could also be of use to us.

7 inch phone tablets

Small tablets are likely to support phone functionality. There have been a couple of manufacturers who have seen it clearly and have launched models in this line.

Asus FonePad

The Taiwanese brand must be rated as brave and innovative. For two years, it has presented models that defy the tablet format imposed by Apple and bet on hybrid concepts that can cover more than one need. FonePad is a tablet that is very reminiscent of Nexus 7 but has the particularity of having an Intel processor. In addition to the said phone function, it adds the SD slot and a rear camera. A few months before the previous tablet came out, the Spanish BQ came up with a model that convinced locals and strangers.
